These items were done as illustration seasoning for the cover for the self-help law book. At this point I don’t remember how they were to be used.

Ahem. As any parent of a 6-year old will tell you, they are haunted in their dreams by the maniacal wailings of “Dora the Explorer” ‘s Backpack and Map. This illustration brings back all the old terrors.

Dora the Explorer’s Backpack and Map talk? The things I miss by not knowing current kid culture.
They talk, in annoying snide tones. But mainly, they sing, long and grating:
“Backpack, backpack, backpack, backpack – anything that you might need, I’ve got inside for you.” “If you’ve got a place to go, I’m the one you need to know, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, if there’s a place you gotta get I can get you there I bet! I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m the MAP! Wheeeee!”
Seriously, the map really does sing that long. He’s a bit of a diva.

Good to know that children’s television is still weird and creepy 🙂
