This ended up being the cover of the church bulletin one week. Friends of ours; members of the church, had just become parents (again) and I was inspired to draw this critter.

You know, I’d never encountered the word meconium before so I looked it up at dictionary.com.
Eww. Wish I’d waited to check that until after I’d finished my coffee.
Did the dictionary tell you that sometimes the baby expels the meconium before being born, and that it sometimes has to be scooped out of their mouth and nostrils?
And now you know.
