When I watched the movie Harvey I was sort of disappointed when Elwood identitified his friend as a pooka; a fairy. Somehow Harvey seemed a little less special when he was one of a species of somethings.
I notice that it’s only been remade as a television movie. The 1950 version is the only theatrical version. No one’s thought to do it as a teenage sex comedy?
Just as long as they don’t cast Will Ferrell as Harvey, we’re all safe.
Yeah, they’d probably ignore the whole “invisible” part of Harvey being a 6 foot 3 inch invisible rabbit.
I haven’t seen the movie but doesn’t Donnie Darko have some sort of Harvey in it?
It does have a guy in a creepy rabbit suit who is, if I remember correctly, some sort of ghost. His name is Frank.

Given that nobody except Elwood could see or hear Harvey it seems likely that no one could smell him either. So that’s likely a fairy cigar made of something other than tobacco.
Not that that’s necessarily better 🙂
