Often times, adding color to an illustration just makes it different. Not better or worse, just different. The mood changes or the emphasis in the illustration alters. This illustration is one that I think the color really improves. I wasn’t so happy about the black and white original but I really like how the color version turned out.

Superman – Color

Not feeling much like Superman myself today. I just beat a deadline for an illustration job for a brochure for a Labor of Love client. Sleep was set aside in order to accomplish that. Now I’ve still got the day job to get through.
Superman – Black and White

This card went to Jeff and Teresa. Jeff runs the Swenson Funnies site listed over in my one-degree sites. Not everything there is work safe. ‘Course, if you cared about work safe you probably shouldn’t be here. He’s one of the GLYPH alumni.

Fred and Wilma – Black and White

I sent this card to my stepmom Jan. Wilma does not remind me of Jan (nor Jan of Wilma – Wilma tended to irritate me) though Fred might sort of remind me of my dad. Both Fred and my dad were friendly and large and (sometimes) loud. Of all my dad’s blood sons I’m the shortest at 6 feet and 3/4 inches. Dad was 6′ 3″. Dad was not as stupid as Fred, thank god.
