Boralis

The creature with the tusks in the center is our old friend Boralis the demon.

Most of the characters above and below him were originally created for a comic strip I’d discussed doing with former member of Labor of Love in 1996 or 1997. One of these days I’ll get around to posting the art for those strips. I’ll need to find it first of course.

Old School Burrabb

I got caught up in wrestling with the new version of Photoshop and forgot to post yesterday. So, through the miracle of redating, here’s yesterday’s post today.

The fellow with the horns is an old style burrabb, only two nostrils and two “ears” on the head instead of the current version that has multiple nostrils and “ears” at the base of the skull.

The elephant is one of many species of animals that humanity has re-engineered.

Flamboyent Siblings

This is the last illustration I worked on for the unfinished 1998 Christmas story. It is, appropriately enough, also unfinished. I do rather like absurd, neo-renaissance stylings of the characters here. The characters were inspired by a pair of siblings we knew at the time.

Riding the Ox

Some of the characters in the unfinished 1998 Christmas story were based on friends we’d spent time with that year. Pretty loosely based usually. I’ve forgotten who any of the previous characters might have been based on but these folks were inspired some folks that were part of the Labor of Love Design Studio at the time.
