Terrors from Beyond – The Dig 1

A sketch for the first of three illustrations in Terrors From Beyond for the scenario The Dig by Brian Sammons. I tried posting the final version of this illustration to my Epilogue.net gallery and got a “not Epilogue quality” rejection. Heh. That’s a new one. Usually I get a note that the work is flat or ill defined. The note aren’t exactly that but they are vague enough to be unhelpful. Especially when the flaw that it sounds like they are commenting on is usually an intentional effect.

Salaryman, Before

You put all your time into the corporation. You never see your family. Your blood pressure is through the roof. And then the zombie apocalypse happens.

Damn. So much for long term planning.

Righteous Lady, Before

I haven’t seen a lot of afros recently. There was a young guy in my building who sported an impressive one for a couple of years but the last time I saw him his head was buzzed.

A Dude, After

And here is yesterday’s chap in a more mellow mood. I wonder if he can pass on the zombie plague if he can’t bite anyone?

A Dude, Before

So a friend called me up two weeks ago and asked if I had time to do series of small portraits – various people before and after zombification. I told him I thought I could do six total. If I had time I’d do more. Of course, two days later, I heard from one of the publishers who occasionally pays me to for art asking me if I was available. Unless I’m already doing paying work I’m always available for paying work. So I was only able to do six before and after zombies. Here’s the first, predead portrait.
