I can’t remember what inspired the drawing but I ended up using it for the cover of the church bulletin the next week.
Giant Whatsit
Can’t tell you what it is, other than enormous. Big as a bread factory.
I probably should have drawn the bread factory to give scale to the thing.
Again Dagon
Somewhere back in the archives is the original version of Grandfather (Grandmother?) Dagon here. I’m not sure where that sketch is. It had gotten so smudged that doing a new version seemed a better idea than trying to finish the original.
Back in Use
I’m not sure when the Woggle Bug pill label illustrations (posted yesterday) were done but there’s obviously a date on this page. For whatever reason the sketchbook was set aside for at least a year, probably longer. I started dating sketches after I started posting here and it became obvious how imprecise my memory is.

I illustrated a two page story (written by Steve Ahlquist) for one of the Strange Eggs anthologies. These sketches were done to get a feel for the characters.

Most of the sketches here are of Milo, a Munchkin.
The spiky haired kid is Ozzie.
The long woman at the bottom with the bad hair is Miss Cuttenklip.
