Well, it’s not really a new sketchbook. Just new as far as posting images here. But you knew that. I’m pretty sure that all the work in here was done in 2003.
Not much to say about this page. It’s primarily inking practice, playing with my Micron pens.
As I said yesterday, this is the last of the postcard series for now. I’ve done some since I finished this one but not enough to have a good run of them. Once I’ve at least a month’s worth I’ll put it out.
This card has Tom Lawson’s name on it. It’s sitting on the table until I hear back from him with an address.
This is also the last of this set of postcards. I’ll post the color version tomorrow and Saturday we’ll start reviewing another sketchbook.

The post title refers to the idea that many people find clowns frightening. I can’t remember if I thought they were scary when I was a kid. I don’t remember finding them very funny though.

This one went to Barbara. Barbara and I met once or twice many years ago. She was one of the first people who friended me after I put up my MySpace page.
I have birthmark at the base of my thumb. I tend to forget it’s there unless I’m looking at the hand. Obviously I wasn’t looking at my hand when I was doing the coloring here.
This card went to Cherie and Rob in Oregon. Yeah, it’s my left hand. Sometimes it’s important to just draw what’s in front of you.
This is Tom Finnegan, the protagonist of Finnegan’s Brink. Finnegan is a graphic novel that Nizzibet and I worked on back in the early ’90s. The publisher who commissioned it shut down before we finished it and the art went into a box. One of our long term plans is to finish the story and get it in to print.
