The NANC1s were designed to look friendly, even a little maternal. They were meant to be the antithesis of the Changlings. Safe. Protective. Good marketing for good monsters.

This was done at the 2012 HP Lovecraft Film Festival. Official guests Nick Gucker, Mike Dubisch and Lee Moyer were doing a live painting demo/challenge. The audience had suggested that they illustrate a shoggoth at the circus. Since I had my sketchbook and drawing tools with me, I thought it would be fun to see what I could come up with. Nick, Mike and Lee’s final pieces can be seen in this Con report at Bizarro Central.
