The folks who consider homo sapiens to be the pinnacle of evolution really don’t get evolution. It’s a process. It doesn’t stop when the first sapiens was born from whichever version of homo preceded it. It continues. Other species have arisen since the first appearance of sapiens. Some folks are just too busy admiring their reflections to notice.
